Zambia's Inflation Slows 9.8%

·          Price movements of selected food items.   Zambia has recorded a slowdown in Annual Inflation for June 2023 to 9.8 percent from 9.9 percent recorded in May, 2023.   This means that on average, prices of goods and services increased by 9.8 percent between June 2022 and June 2023, Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTATS) Statistician General  Mulenga Musepa  has said.   Mr. Musepa attributed the development mainly to price movements of selected food items.   Annual food inflation for June 2023 was recorded at 11.2 percent compared to 11.6 percent in the previous month mainly attributed to price movements in Cereals, Meat Milk (i.e. Fresh Milk Super Milk, Vegetables Cooking oil and live chicken.   However, the annual non-food inflation for June 2023 increased to 7.8 percent from 7.6 percent in May 2023 mainly attributed to increases in prices of non-food items such as Purchase of Motor Vehicles, Passenger transport by air, Accommodation services Bed, Restaurant an

Zambia’s Q1 Economy Grow 2.4%.

  ·            Growth attributed to performance of six industries.   Zambia’s Economy grew by 2.3 percent in first quarter(Q1) of 2023 compared to 7.9 percent growth of the corresponding quarter of 2022, Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTAS) reveals.   The growth was mainly attributed to the performance of six industries, which posted positive contributions to overall growth.   These were Education 2.1 percentage points, Financial and insurance activities 0.9 percentage points, Professional, scientific and technical activities 0.8 percentage points ZAMSTATS Statistician General Mulenga Musepa says during a June 2023 monthly dissemination.   Manufacturing contributed 0.5 percentage points similar with Information & communication at 0.5 Percentage points whereas Accommodation & food service activities 0.4 percentage points.   He however noted that Agriculture, forestry & fishing recorded a negative of 2.4 percentage points, Mining & quarrying -1.1 percent

 POSITIVE ENERGY WILL END LOAD SHEDDING. The Biggest Problem among Zambians today is Criticism without Solutions. Now that the Country has a problem of load shedding, the majority have gone on social media to mock The Head of State and his government. Well Your opinion is respected.  Under rare circumstance will you find someone providing a solution to load shedding or any other economic problems. Why don't we use the same energy of joking on this situation to generate solutions? Why are we not using the same energy to advise government on how we can do it together?  Our economy is at a sinking stage because  of  load shedding triggered by our own disobedience to control climate change.
