Bread of Life Church International Sunday Service
Date: 22nd September 2024
Location: Blessings Center, Lusaka
Scripture: Nehemiah 6:15
Preacher: Bishop Shaderick Chisulo
Notes:
1. Determination will cause you to break a record and be counted among the great.
In the year of Divine Overflow, you must begin to tell yourself, "It is now or never."
Example:
Michael Jordan failed many times in high school, missing 9,000 shots in his career. Through sheer determination, he worked at it and refused to let failure define his life. Today, he is called "Air Jordan" because of his determination.
What is your determination? Are you firm?
It doesn't matter what comes my way, or the obstacles in my path; I am more than persuaded to become what God has placed on my life.
2. The Need for Determination
I. To Overcome Obstacles
Nehemiah was in a foreign land, yet he was working towards his goal (Nehemiah 2:10).
You must be determined concerning your dreams and make an impact on your life’s journey.
II. To Silence Criticism
Criticism comes in two forms:
Positive criticism inspires us to do more.
Negative criticism is destructive and can hinder you from accomplishing your goal.
In your journey to fulfill your dreams, there will be negative criticism.
Paul and Silas were criticized for setting free a young girl who was possessed by demons (Acts 16).
III. To Overcome Opposition
You must be determined to fulfill the dreams of your life.
Don't allow mere criticism to keep you in a place where you feel caged.
These days, the sky is no longer the limit. There is more in you, and you must become what God has ordained in your life.
Failure once is not final! You need to arise and be determined to become what God has ordained for your life.
3. Overflowing Through Determination
Determination is critical to your Divine Overflow this year.
Nehemiah was determined, and his dream was fulfilled.
Refuse to be refused, and refuse to take "no" for an answer.
4. How to Activate the Grace of Determination
1. Stay Focused:
Nehemiah remained focused on the Lord.
2. Refuse to Be Distracted:
1 Samuel 17:9-22 (David vs Goliath story).
This year, refuse to be distracted. Focus on the goal and on becoming the person God has ordained for your life. Be a person of one thing.
3. Refuse to Fear:
Nehemiah had opportunities to be scared, but he stood his ground.
Refuse to be intimidated by your dream and vision.
Caleb and Joshua said, "We cannot be intimidated, for we are well able."
You are well able to actualize your dreams and become what God has ordained for you.
